Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to have a small outdoor wedding at my parents’ home in San Diego. So when my husband proposed to me, I knew my wedding fantasy would come true. In preparation for our wedding day, my dad went out and bought an outdoor gazebo for us to be married under. It was a beautiful wooden gazebo that fit perfectly into our wedding decor. We decorated the outdoor gazebo with all kinds of lace and beautiful flowers then night before the big day.
The day of our wedding a fluke storm rolled into the city. We planned to shorten the ceremony in hopes we could make it inside to the reception before the rain hit. Unfortunately, right when the ceremony started so did the rain. We just weren’t fast enough. Thank goodness we have glass outdoor furniture that won’t rust or mildew from the wet weather. The guests were able to stand under the edge of the reception tent while we were standing under the outdoor gazebo free and clear of the falling rain. Right when our vows were said the rain storm disappeared and we were safe to join our guests just a few feet away in the tent. It was a wedding ceremony to remember, that’s for sure!
